Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¾ cup sour cream
4 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line the bottom of a pie dish with parchment paper. Grease the bottom and sides with butter.
- In a bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar using a mixer until you achieve a light and creamy consistency.
- Add the sour cream to the egg mixture and blend well. Pour in the melted butter and mix again until combined. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating with a mixer until smooth.
- Divide the batter into two equal portions. Mix cocoa powder into one portion until fully incorporated.
- Spoon 2 tablespoons of the light batter into the center of the prepared pie dish. Then, pour 2 tablespoons of the chocolate batter on top, directly in the center. Continue layering the batters until all the batter is used.
- To create a decorative pattern, use a wooden stick to draw lines from the edge of the dish to the center in various places.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean from the center of the pie.
